The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) annuncia che Quake 3 è confermato anche per il 2007. La decisione è maturata durante la World Season 2006 che si sta attualmente svolgendo e che vede il celeberrimo Quake 3 come la migliore one-versus-one competition. E’ stato inoltre precisato che verranno utilizzate nuove mappe e non quelle utilizzate quest’anno… Giorni fa CPL ha anche richiesto una modifica alla mappa nodm9 che a quanto sembra presantava dei bugs. E’ stato contattato il creatore della mappa ed è stata subito rilasciata la versione revisionata che verrà adesso chiamata pro-nodm9.

The CPL’s One-Versus-One Competition Committee has extensively discussed the negative impact to e-sports of changing games from year to year. In an effort to provide stability to the deathmatch community, the CPL is pleased to announce that Quake 3 has been unanimously selected as the one-versus-one competition game for the 2007 World Season. For the 2007 season the CPL will use new maps. These new Quake 3 maps will be announced by the League Commissioner during the CPL 2006 Championship Finals.
